Who is responsible
Jogo da Sueca Online is an independent project run from Coimbra, Portugal. For any question about your data, write to suporte@jogosueca.online.
What data we collect
When you use the game, we store:
- Account data: email, player name, chosen avatar and your password (stored only in hashed form, never as plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive the name and email of your Google account.
- Game data: matches, moves, results, ranking points, rating, friends and tournament entries.
- Preferences: language, deck options and notification choices.
- Technical data: session identifier, IP address and device type, used for security and troubleshooting.
What we use it for
- Creating and managing your account and keeping you signed in.
- Running matches, keeping your history and calculating the ranking and rating.
- Sending you the notifications you asked for.
- Protecting the game against cheating and abuse.
- Understanding how the game is used in order to improve it, only with your consent.
Session and cookies
Your session is managed by Better-Auth through an essential cookie that page scripts cannot read. Without it you can't stay signed in.
We also store a few preferences in your browser, such as deck options and your cookie choice.
Analytics cookies (PostHog and Google Analytics) are only enabled if you accept them in the cookie notice. If you choose "Essential only", they are not loaded. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will appear again.
Notifications
Push notifications (in the browser and in the app) are sent through OneSignal and only after you grant permission. We link your device to your account to let you know about invitations and tables waiting for you.
Game emails are sent through Amazon SES. You can turn notifications off in Settings or in your device settings.
Where the data is kept
Data is kept in a PostgreSQL database hosted by hosting providers contracted for that purpose. We only share data with the services needed to run the game:
- OneSignal, for push notifications.
- Amazon Web Services, for sending emails.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- PostHog and Google Analytics, for usage statistics, only with consent.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; your account data is then deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy or object to its processing. Write to suporte@jogosueca.online. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll let you know in the game.
